Car wash Clean 🧼

I live in Louisiana and our weather is unpredictable. For example: Sunday it was 37 degrees when I got myself and kids ready for church. By 1pm it was 70 degrees and I was sweating 🤦🏻‍♀️. I am absolutely awful at planning my dress attire for the day ahead so my car frequently gets over run with jackets and long sleeve shirts.

I’ve been trying to do better about keeping my car tidy and clean 🧼 ; recently I spent what felt like two hours cleaning the entire inside. Phew was it filthy! I hadn’t done that detailed of a clean in a while so i wasn’t too surprised.

Fast forward to earlier this week and I went through the car wash and went to the vacuum area. When I started vacuuming I was honestly pretty shocked it had already gotten so dirty. I didn’t realize how quickly my car gets dirty.

As I was vacuuming I started to think how similar this process is to recognizing sin in our life. At the time we accept Jesus in our ❤️ and recognize that we are wretched sinners, we see all kinds of sin present in our life. We do a good job of changing and redirecting our sinful tendencies. Over time we get lackadaisical with this process. As I was apathetic with keeping my car clean; we carelessly assess our own sin. Once we make the decision to clean it up we realize how dirty our hearts and minds have become.

Proverbs 28:13 says

“People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.”

I came to a point in my life where I took a deep look into myself. I wasn’t living “bad”, I basically had a plethora of socially acceptable sin. I definitely was not living a life that was sold out for Jesus. Most of my aspirations were self serving. I’m glad I learned those aspirations will not feel the lonely void that your life becomes when you don’t cherish your relationship with the Almighty Father.

I accepted Jesus as my savior at a fairly young age, and I lived a sold out christian life for many years. Like I said in the “no wegwets” blog, life happened and I slowly slipped away. It was a slow fade, and I lost so many divine opportunities. He chased me though! Thank you Jesus for chasing me🙌

You’ll be surprised what God will show you when you ask Him. I asked for a renewed yearning for His word and sure enough … I got it! How clean is your heart? Y’all know how we obsess about what people see. As soon as we know someone is coming over to our home we busy our self and get that house seemingly spotless. We throw some blankets in a closet, shove random pens in the infamous junk drawer. First glance, our home looks great, but if they started opening doors and really looking, our visitors would find evidence of our messy habits.

The same goes for our sin. It’s pretty easy to hide our internal struggles from the world. But y’all, Jesus sees it all. He knows the unforgiveness we carry for that person that wronged us. The anger we feel because our loved one left us.

With this being said, maybe you’re reading this and you’ve never done what I did as child and accepted Jesus in your heart. How do you do this? It’s real easy actually! You pray and ask. You may be alone right now or you may have a three kids pulling at your leg saying.. mama… daddy… Maw maw, paw paw. You may be sitting next to your dying or very sick family member wondering “is this all there is?” No matter where you are, what you’re doing if you don’t know where you going when you leave this life… it’s time to know for sure.

If your empty, aimless, scared and longing for the love that only my God can give you then I want you to get still, go to a quiet place and pray this prayer

“Dear God, I am a sinner. I am nothing, and I need you in my life. Please come and fill my heart with your Holy Spirit. I believe you sent your son to this earth and He lived a spotless, blameless life so that I can do what I’m doing right now! He was an innocent man and he was beaten and hung on a cross. He died and then three days later, He rose again! You have already forgiven me and now God I accept that forgiveness and I want to live the rest of my life with your holy presence! Thank you for you son and the sacrifice given for me. Help me live my life to honor you. Amen”

Phew! I’m emotional 😭 just typing this because I’m reminded of when I made this same decision. I was so lonely and desperate for love.

Now what?!! If you spoke this prayer please, please reach out to me or someone in a local church. If you have no idea where to start then message me, I will do everything I can to help connect you so that you can make the next move and make a public profession of faith!

Maybe you’ve been a Christian a long time and you’re just like I was a few years ago. Worn down from running.

Turn around

Run to the Father. He’s waiting for you.

Examine your life, ask him to point out your sin and get on over to the alter and confess! Clean it up.. don’t hide it in the corners of your heart. Give it up to Him. He’s already forgiven you now it’s time to lay it down.
