Mission Critical

I have always been a goal oriented person. I work better under stress and with a deadline. I strive for the next big thing and I honestly struggle with the endurance part. I can get completely on fire for something and go all in. usually I attain my goals.

Once I’m there I get lazy. I’ll lolly gag and plateau until the next big goal comes along.

Am I alone?!? Any other fellow goal junkies?

You see, that’s all fine and great with some things, but most aspects of life you have to function without a “set goal”.

Being a parent is a big one.

Being a Christian is an even bigger one.

You see as a Christian your main goal is- share Jesus, go make disciples, and love.

That is such a simple sentence for such a difficult task.

We get caught up with living that we forget what is important. Before I started writing I did a lot of reading on blogs, websites, domains, and oh good grief html 😩

I was like “lord I just want to write, why do I need to know this stuff”

When I got bogged down in all that I started some compel training with Proverbs 31 and wow! What a great resource. This made me nail down my mission statement. You see, mission statements are important. when you set out to reach a goal it’s real easy to get side tracked by all the living it takes to get there. If you don’t put pen to paper on what your goal is, you get lost.

What’s all this rambling about?

What’s your mission? If it doesn’t include sharing Jesus, making disciples or loving people then you need to reevaluate your priorities.

I had to be reminded this week what mine is. I’m late posting my blog because I let life bog me down this week.

I let Satan tell me, this doesn’t matter.

I refuse to let him whisper that to me. I am choosing to move that spiral up and have faith in the process that God is leading me through.

God taught me something through my three year old today and I wanted to leave this with you. We were driving home from church and she said

“You have to let go of something to move on to another”

Is there something or someone you need to let go of so you can move on with your mission?

All the other goals are nothing if you aren’t living for Jesus.

“I do everything to spread the Good News and share in its blessings.”

1 Corinthians 9:23 NLT

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”

Matthew 28:19 NLT

“But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”

1 John 4:8 NLT
