Pray first and Pray more

In October of 2021 a real sweet friend reached out to tell me about a job opportunity. I laughed and told her “nah I’m good where I’m at”

One week later, same friend found a funny way to send me a job app that had added some extra perks. After the second time I decided I should at least pray about this.

Let me first say I’m embarrassed to admit that’s the order in which I put prayer.

But, I learned a lot from this experience. I did indeed pray about this job. I went and got more info.

In January I started that job 😱

Emily said “nah I’m good where I’m at” but God said “I got something else in store for you.”

What you can gather from this?

You need to quit your job… haha.. Jk jk

You need to first take notice when someone out of the blue contacts you about something. For some reason that person thought of YOU. That is special.

Don’t wait for a second chance, unfortunately they don’t always come. In my past I’ve avoided prayerfully considering opportunities and the second chance never came.

“And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭11:9‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Ask. That’s all we have to do. I asked for wisdom. I asked God to give me unexplainable peace about leaving a job that was a great job. I asked God to prepare my family for this and for understanding. I asked for help when I had to give notice at my other job (that was so awful.. I hate quitting) .

God gave me everything I asked for. He knows our hearts and he knows what we need when we need it.

I challenge you- pray first and then respond.

Lord,

Thank you for my friend who boldly followed your nudge to reach out…. Twice 🤪. Thank you for paving the way for a new journey. Lord I pray for those reading this. I pray they would be moved to pray with out ceasing. Pray first and to always seek your will, not their own. You are the Lord most high and I praise you for unending grace and favor.

Amen

  1. Thank You Emily ❤️
You are Sooo!!! Right! about Praying for Thy Will To Be Done not My Will. I wanted to retire in 2020 ,I E, Covid, Lock Down. But God said No 😮 He told me to Wait on Him and I will tell you when to retire and He did.He has Perfect Timing. I am now retired and Love It because I Know it came from Him in Prayer. I’ve always said “You Have Not Because You Asked Not”
Thanks for All you do and Have a Blessed Day 🙏🙌✝️
    Love You ❤️
