On ramp

You remember when you were learning how to drive? Everything was a big deal. The car that just zoomed around you because let’s face it .. you were driving slow 🤣, bumper to bumper traffic, the narrow roads that you swear is not big enough for two vehicles and the infamous on ramp to the interstate. All of those things were terrifying to me as new driver, but I studied my drivers Ed book, practiced with a licensed driver and then Oct 4, 2002 I got my license. It may have been the 5th because I’m pretty sure a hurricane was in the gulf and delayed it but I digress.

My point? Following Jesus can seem that daunting. We don’t say the sinners prayer and then BAM know how to live and how to share the gospel. It takes studying His word and practice.

Paul tells us in Hebrews 3:14 “For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ.”

Once you get into a natural routine it all comes easier just like driving got easier. Before long I was the car zooming around the slow poke drivers Ed car. The same goes with your own personal ministry. Before long you could be leading women, or maybe being asked to decorate the entire church for an event… whatever your calling is… you have to prepare and foster it. Im still over here with my spiritual learners permit. The scared part of me thinks I’ll never be able to master living for Jesus, but the logical part of me knows that with lots of practice and Jesus I will master it. I will be able to lead people to christ just as easily as I learned how to take the interstate on ramp.

Are you stuck? Jesus is the answer. He is the only way to get out of the mire and muck that our lives so easily become. Call on Him and He will guide you.
