Satan’s Lullaby

Satan’s Lullaby

I recently listened to a podcast by Jennie Allen and heard a comment from a pastor out of Afghanistan. He said the western culture is under a satanic lullaby. This description has set with me so heavily ever since I heard it. Mainly because I can see it, it is true! He has us convinced we are alone, convinced we are right, convinced we don’t need people, we are ugly, fat, poor, unloved, unwanted, useless, broken and there is no hope!

How do we get out from under this spell that Satan has us in?

We have to wake up. It makes me think of several different fiction movies. The one that comes to my mind right off is one of the “Incredibles” movies. The premise of the movie was the bad guy had created a device to entrance people and control them. It wasn’t until someone who had not been entranced, recognized what was going on to stop him.

Sound familiar?

Acts 3:19-20 reads “Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and he will again send you Jesus, your appointed messiah”

Times of refreshment- I don’t know about ya’ll but when I am refreshed I do not feel anxious or worried.

The answer is clear through out the Bible- repent of your sins and turn to God.

Quite frankly that is just not easy to do. It makes me think about my 3 year old. Last week I told her “stop jumping off dads truck, you will hurt your ankle”

In her little kid mind all she see is the fun!

The instruction was easy to follow, but the act of physically stopping was not. For the record… Two hours later she was crying on the floor cuz her ankle was hurting.

Instructions are easy to hear and read, but following them takes discipline.

This past weekend I attended the LO sister conference. Which was amazing btw, and at the conference the hot topic was anxiety and truth. Jennie Allen was one of the speakers (also love her) She is the author of the “Get out of your head” study and she teaches about interrupting thoughts.

Jennie asked us question “how do we change”

Her advice

“Interrupting thoughts best comes from friends, we are meant to be war buddies” Jennie Allen

Friends! We Were not created to be alone in our battles.

Cadence needs a mom to tell her, hey that’s not a good idea. The incredibles needed someone to recognize the trance they were being placed in and YOU need war buddies.

Over the past five years all of my successes have been because I had someone alongside me cheering me on and encouraging me. The devil wants to entrance you and make you think you are alone.

Wake up!

If you are awake and not falling for this scheme then step out and go help someone take off the entrancement device..haha.that was terrible English right there.

In job we see a conversation between satan and the devil

Job 1:7b satan says

“I have been patrolling the earth, watching everything that is going on.”

He sees too. He knows how to use our past against us

He is prowling and you can rest assured He will attack when you least expect it. Arm yourself with the word of truth and fight alongside your war buddies.
